Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco puggalo sabyÄbajjhaį¹ kÄyasaį¹
khÄraį¹ abhisaį¹
kharoti, sabyÄbajjhaį¹ vacÄ«saį¹
khÄraį¹ abhisaį¹
kharoti, sabyÄbajjhaį¹ manosaį¹
khÄraį¹ abhisaį¹
kharoti. Firstly, a certain person makes hurtful choices by way of body, speech, and mind.
So sabyÄbajjhaį¹ kÄyasaį¹
khÄraį¹ abhisaį¹
kharitvÄ, sabyÄbajjhaį¹ vacÄ«saį¹
khÄraį¹ abhisaį¹
kharitvÄ, sabyÄbajjhaį¹ manosaį¹
khÄraį¹ abhisaį¹
kharitvÄ sabyÄbajjhaį¹ lokaį¹ upapajjati. Having made these choices, theyāre reborn in a hurtful world,
Tamenaį¹ sabyÄbajjhaį¹ lokaį¹ upapannaį¹ samÄnaį¹ sabyÄbajjhÄ phassÄ phusanti. where hurtful contacts strike them.
So sabyÄbajjhehi phassehi phuį¹į¹ho samÄno sabyÄbajjhaį¹ vedanaį¹ vedayati ekantadukkhaį¹, seyyathÄpi sattÄ nerayikÄ. Touched by hurtful contacts, they experience hurtful feelings that are exclusively painfulālike the beings in hell.

kharoti. Furthermore, another person makes pleasing choices by way of body, speech, and mind.

khÄraį¹ abhisaį¹
kharitvÄ, abyÄbajjhaį¹ manosaį¹

kharitvÄ abyÄbajjhaį¹ lokaį¹ upapajjati. Having made these choices, they are reborn in a pleasing world,

So abyÄbajjhehi phassehi phuį¹į¹ho samÄno abyÄbajjhaį¹ vedanaį¹ vedayati ekantasukhaį¹, seyyathÄpi devÄ subhakiį¹hÄ. Touched by pleasing contacts, they experience pleasing feelings of perfect happinessālike the gods of universal beauty.

So sabyÄbajjhehipi abyÄbajjhehipi phassehi phuį¹į¹ho samÄno sabyÄbajjhampi abyÄbajjhampi vedanaį¹ vedayati vokiį¹į¹asukhadukkhaį¹, seyyathÄpi manussÄ ekacce ca devÄ ekacce ca vinipÄtikÄ. Touched by both hurtful and pleasing contacts, they experience both hurtful and pleasing feelings that are a mixture of pleasure and painālike humans, some gods, and some beings in the underworld.
