Samaį¹abrÄhmaį¹asutta Ascetics and Brahmins
āYe keci, bhikkhave, samaį¹Ä vÄ brÄhmaį¹Ä vÄ lokassa assÄdaƱca assÄdato ÄdÄ«navaƱca ÄdÄ«navato nissaraį¹aƱca nissaraį¹ato yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ nappajÄnanti, āMendicants, there are ascetics and brahmins who donāt truly understand the worldās gratification, drawback, and escape for what they are.
na me te, bhikkhave, samaį¹Ä vÄ brÄhmaį¹Ä vÄ samaį¹esu vÄ samaį¹asammatÄ brÄhmaį¹esu vÄ brÄhmaį¹asammatÄ, na ca pana te Äyasmanto sÄmaƱƱatthaį¹ vÄ brahmaƱƱatthaį¹ vÄ diį¹į¹heva dhamme sayaį¹ abhiĆ±Ć±Ä sacchikatvÄ upasampajja viharanti. I donāt deem them as true ascetics and brahmins. Those venerables donāt realize the goal of life as an ascetic or brahmin, and donāt live having realized it with their own insight.
