āTÄ«į¹imÄni, bhikkhave, soceyyÄni. āMendicants, there are these three kinds of purity.
KatamÄni tÄ«į¹i? What three?
KÄyasoceyyaį¹, vacÄ«soceyyaį¹, manosoceyyaį¹. Purity of body, speech, and mind.
KatamaƱca, bhikkhave, kÄyasoceyyaį¹? And what is purity of body?
Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco pÄį¹ÄtipÄtÄ paį¹ivirato hoti, adinnÄdÄnÄ paį¹ivirato hoti, kÄmesumicchÄcÄrÄ paį¹ivirato hoti. Itās when someone doesnāt kill living creatures, steal, or commit sexual misconduct.
Idaį¹ vuccati, bhikkhave, kÄyasoceyyaį¹. This is called āpurity of bodyā.

Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco musÄvÄdÄ paį¹ivirato hoti, pisuį¹Äya vÄcÄya paį¹ivirato hoti, pharusÄya vÄcÄya paį¹ivirato hoti, samphappalÄpÄ paį¹ivirato hoti. Itās when someone doesnāt use speech thatās false, divisive, harsh, or nonsensical.
Idaį¹ vuccati, bhikkhave, vacÄ«soceyyaį¹. This is called āpurity of speechā.

Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco anabhijjhÄlu hoti abyÄpannacitto sammÄdiį¹į¹hiko. Itās when someone is content, kind-hearted, and has right view.
Idaį¹ vuccati, bhikkhave, manosoceyyaį¹. This is called āpurity of mindā.
ImÄni kho, bhikkhave, tÄ«į¹i soceyyÄnÄ«āti. These are the three kinds of purity.ā
