I see no reason for anyoneāwhether ascetic, brahmin, god, MÄra, or the Divinity, or anyone else in the worldāto legitimately scold me, saying: āYou claim to be a fully awakened Buddha, but you donāt understand these things.ā
Etamahaį¹, bhikkhave, nimittaį¹ asamanupassanto khemappatto abhayappatto vesÄrajjappatto viharÄmi. Since I see no such reason, I live secure, fearless, and assured.

I see no reason for anyoneāwhether ascetic, brahmin, god, MÄra, or the Divinity, or anyone else in the worldāto legitimately scold me, saying: āThough you teach that this teaching leads to the goal of the complete ending of suffering, it doesnāt lead there for one who practices it.ā
Etamahaį¹, bhikkhave, nimittaį¹ asamanupassanto khemappatto abhayappatto vesÄrajjappatto viharÄmi. Since I see no such reason, I live secure, fearless, and assured.
