Cakkasutta Situations

ā€œCattārimāni, bhikkhave, cakkāni, yehi samannāgatānaį¹ devamanussānaį¹ catucakkaį¹ vattati, yehi samannāgatā devamanussā nacirasseva mahantattaį¹ vepullattaį¹ pāpuį¹‡anti bhogesu. ā€œMendicants, there are these four situations. When these situations come about, any god or human who takes advantage of them will soon acquire great and abundant wealth.

Katamāni cattāri? What four?

PatirÅ«padesavāso, sappurisāvassayo, attasammāpaį¹‡idhi, pubbe ca katapuƱƱatāā€”Living in a suitable region, relying on true persons, being rightly resolved in oneself, and past merit.

Imāni kho, bhikkhave, cattāri cakkāni, yehi samannāgatānaį¹ devamanussānaį¹ catucakkaį¹ vattati, yehi samannāgatā devamanussā nacirasseva mahantattaį¹ vepullattaį¹ pāpuį¹‡anti bhogesÅ«ti. These are the four situations. When these situations come about, any god or human who takes advantage of them will soon acquire great and abundant wealth.

Patirūpe vase dese, When a person lives in a suitable region,

ariyamittakaro siyā; making friends with noble ones,

Sammāpaį¹‡idhisampanno, possessing right resolve,

pubbe puƱƱakato naro; and having merit from the past,

DhaƱƱaį¹ dhanaį¹ yaso kitti, grain, riches, fame, reputation,

sukhaƱcetaį¹dhivattatÄ«ā€ti. and happiness come to them.ā€
