Cakkasutta Situations
āCattÄrimÄni, bhikkhave, cakkÄni, yehi samannÄgatÄnaį¹ devamanussÄnaį¹ catucakkaį¹ vattati, yehi samannÄgatÄ devamanussÄ nacirasseva mahantattaį¹ vepullattaį¹ pÄpuį¹anti bhogesu. āMendicants, there are these four situations. When these situations come about, any god or human who takes advantage of them will soon acquire great and abundant wealth.
KatamÄni cattÄri? What four?
PatirÅ«padesavÄso, sappurisÄvassayo, attasammÄpaį¹idhi, pubbe ca katapuƱƱatÄāLiving in a suitable region, relying on true persons, being rightly resolved in oneself, and past merit.
ImÄni kho, bhikkhave, cattÄri cakkÄni, yehi samannÄgatÄnaį¹ devamanussÄnaį¹ catucakkaį¹ vattati, yehi samannÄgatÄ devamanussÄ nacirasseva mahantattaį¹ vepullattaį¹ pÄpuį¹anti bhogesÅ«ti. These are the four situations. When these situations come about, any god or human who takes advantage of them will soon acquire great and abundant wealth.
Patirūpe vase dese, When a person lives in a suitable region,
ariyamittakaro siyÄ; making friends with noble ones,
SammÄpaį¹idhisampanno, possessing right resolve,
pubbe puƱƱakato naro; and having merit from the past,
DhaƱƱaį¹ dhanaį¹ yaso kitti, grain, riches, fame, reputation,
sukhaƱcetaį¹dhivattatÄ«āti. and happiness come to them.ā
