āCatÅ«hi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannÄgato bhikkhu apaį¹į¹akappaį¹ipadaį¹ paį¹ipanno hoti, yoni cassa ÄraddhÄ hoti ÄsavÄnaį¹ khayÄya. āMendicants, when a mendicant has four things their practice is unfailing, and they have laid the groundwork for ending the defilements.

Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu sÄ«lavÄ hoti, bahussuto hoti, ÄraddhavÄ«riyo hoti, paƱƱavÄ hoti. Itās when a mendicant is ethical, learned, energetic, and wise.
Imehi kho, bhikkhave, catÅ«hi dhammehi samannÄgato bhikkhu apaį¹į¹akappaį¹ipadaį¹ paį¹ipanno hoti, yoni cassa ÄraddhÄ hoti ÄsavÄnaį¹ khayÄyÄāti. When a mendicant has these four things their practice is unfailing, and they have laid the groundwork for ending the defilements.ā
