Dutiyapāpadhammasutta Bad Character (2nd)

ā€œPāpaƱca vo, bhikkhave, desessāmi, pāpena pāpataraƱca; ā€œMendicants, I will teach you whoā€™s bad and whoā€™s worse,

kalyāį¹‡aƱca, kalyāį¹‡ena kalyāį¹‡ataraƱca. whoā€™s good and whoā€™s better.

ā€œKatamo ca, bhikkhave, pāpo? And whoā€™s bad?

Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco micchādiį¹­į¹­hiko hoti ā€¦peā€¦ micchāƱāį¹‡Ä« hoti, micchāvimutti hoti. Itā€™s someone who has wrong view, wrong thought, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, wrong immersion, wrong knowledge, and wrong freedom.

Ayaį¹ vuccati, bhikkhave, pāpo. This is called bad.

Katamo ca, bhikkhave, pāpena pāpataro? And whoā€™s worse?

Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco attanā ca micchādiį¹­į¹­hiko hoti, paraƱca micchādiį¹­į¹­hiyā samādapeti ā€¦peā€¦ attanā ca micchāƱāį¹‡Ä« hoti, paraƱca micchāƱāį¹‡e samādapeti; Itā€™s someone who has wrong view, wrong thought, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, wrong immersion, wrong knowledge, and wrong freedom. And they encourage others in these same qualities.

attanā ca micchāvimutti hoti, paraƱca micchāvimuttiyā samādapeti.

Ayaį¹ vuccati, bhikkhave, pāpena pāpataro. This is called worse.
