āPÄpaƱca vo, bhikkhave, desessÄmi, pÄpena pÄpataraƱca; āMendicants, I will teach you whoās bad and whoās worse,
kalyÄį¹aƱca, kalyÄį¹ena kalyÄį¹ataraƱca. whoās good and whoās better.

āKatamo ca, bhikkhave, pÄpo? And whoās bad?
Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco micchÄdiį¹į¹hiko hoti ā¦peā¦ micchÄƱÄį¹Ä« hoti, micchÄvimutti hoti. Itās someone who has wrong view, wrong thought, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, wrong immersion, wrong knowledge, and wrong freedom.
Ayaį¹ vuccati, bhikkhave, pÄpo. This is called bad.
Katamo ca, bhikkhave, pÄpena pÄpataro? And whoās worse?
Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco attanÄ ca micchÄdiį¹į¹hiko hoti, paraƱca micchÄdiį¹į¹hiyÄ samÄdapeti ā¦peā¦ attanÄ ca micchÄƱÄį¹Ä« hoti, paraƱca micchÄƱÄį¹e samÄdapeti; Itās someone who has wrong view, wrong thought, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, wrong immersion, wrong knowledge, and wrong freedom. And they encourage others in these same qualities.
