Dutiyahitasutta Welfare of Others (2nd)

ā€œPaƱcahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu parahitāya paį¹­ipanno hoti, no attahitāya. ā€œMendicants, a mendicant with five qualities is practicing for the welfare of others, but not their own.

Katamehi paƱcahi? What five?

Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu attanā na sÄ«lasampanno hoti, paraį¹ sÄ«lasampadāya samādapeti; Itā€™s when a mendicant is not personally accomplished in ethics, immersion, wisdom, freedom, or the knowledge and vision of freedom. But they encourage others in these qualities.

attanā na samādhisampanno hoti, paraį¹ samādhisampadāya samādapeti;

attanā na paƱƱāsampanno hoti, paraį¹ paƱƱāsampadāya samādapeti;

attanā na vimuttisampanno hoti, paraį¹ vimuttisampadāya samādapeti;

attanā na vimuttiƱāį¹‡adassanasampanno hoti, paraį¹ vimuttiƱāį¹‡adassanasampadāya samādapeti.

Imehi kho, bhikkhave, paƱcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu parahitāya paį¹­ipanno hoti, no attahitāyāā€ti. A mendicant with these five qualities is practicing for the welfare of others, but not their own.ā€
