Tatiyahitasutta The Welfare of Neither

ā€œPaƱcahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu neva attahitāya paį¹­ipanno hoti, no parahitāya. ā€œMendicants, a mendicant with five qualities is practicing neither for their own welfare, nor that of others.

Katamehi paƱcahi? What five?

Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu attanā na sÄ«lasampanno hoti, no paraį¹ sÄ«lasampadāya samādapeti; Itā€™s when a mendicant is not personally accomplished in ethics, immersion, wisdom, freedom, or the knowledge and vision of freedom. Nor do they encourage others in these qualities.

attanā na samādhisampanno hoti, no paraį¹ samādhisampadāya samādapeti;

attanā na paƱƱāsampanno hoti, no paraį¹ paƱƱāsampadāya samādapeti;

attanā na vimuttisampanno hoti, no paraį¹ vimuttisampadāya samādapeti;

attanā na vimuttiƱāį¹‡adassanasampanno hoti, no paraį¹ vimuttiƱāį¹‡adassanasampadāya samādapeti.

Imehi kho, bhikkhave, paƱcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu neva attahitāya paį¹­ipanno hoti, no parahitāyāā€ti. A mendicant with these five qualities is practicing neither for their own welfare, nor that of others.ā€
