ā€œPaƱcime, bhikkhave, ādÄ«navā kulÅ«pakassa bhikkhuno ativelaį¹ kulesu saį¹saį¹­į¹­hassa viharato. ā€œMendicants, there are these five drawbacks for a mendicant who visits families for too long, mixing closely with them.

Katame paƱca? What five?

Mātugāmassa abhiį¹‡hadassanaį¹, You often see members of the opposite sex.

dassane sati saį¹saggo, Seeing them, you become close.

saį¹sagge sati vissāso, Being so close, you become intimate.

vissāse sati otāro, Being intimate, lust overcomes you.

otiį¹‡į¹‡acittassetaį¹ pāį¹­ikaį¹…khaį¹: ā€˜anabhirato vā brahmacariyaį¹ carissati aƱƱataraį¹ vā saį¹…kiliį¹­į¹­haį¹ āpattiį¹ āpajjissati sikkhaį¹ vā paccakkhāya hÄ«nāyāvattissatiā€™. When your mind is swamped by lust, you can expect that you will lead the spiritual life dissatisfied, or commit one of the corrupt offenses, or resign the training and return to a lesser life.

Ime kho, bhikkhave, paƱca ādÄ«navā kulÅ«pakassa bhikkhuno ativelaį¹ kulesu saį¹saį¹­į¹­hassa viharatoā€ti. These are the five drawbacks for a mendicant who visits families for too long, mixing closely with them.ā€
