āPaƱcime, bhikkhave, ÄdÄ«navÄ duccarite. āMendicants, there are these five drawbacks of bad conduct.

AttÄpi attÄnaį¹ upavadati; You blame yourself.
anuvicca viĆ±Ć±Å« garahanti; After examination, sensible people criticize you.
pÄpako kittisaddo abbhuggacchati; You get a bad reputation.
saddhammÄ vuį¹į¹hÄti; You drift away from true teachings.
asaddhamme patiį¹į¹hÄti. You settle on untrue teachings.
Ime kho, bhikkhave, paƱca ÄdÄ«navÄ duccarite. These are the five drawbacks of bad conduct.
PaƱcime, bhikkhave, Änisaį¹sÄ sucarite. There are these five benefits of good conduct.
