āImaį¹, bhikkhave, rattiį¹ aƱƱatarÄ devatÄ abhikkantÄya rattiyÄ abhikkantavaį¹į¹Ä kevalakappaį¹ jetavanaį¹ obhÄsetvÄ yenÄhaį¹ tenupasaį¹
kami; upasaį¹
kamitvÄ maį¹ abhivÄdetvÄ ekamantaį¹ aį¹į¹hÄsi. Ekamantaį¹ į¹hitÄ kho, bhikkhave, sÄ devatÄ maį¹ etadavoca: āTonight, a glorious deity, lighting up the entire Jetaās Grove, came to me, bowed, stood to one side, and said to me:
āchayime, bhante, dhammÄ bhikkhuno aparihÄnÄya saį¹vattanti. āSir, these six things donāt lead to the decline of a mendicant.

SatthugÄravatÄ, dhammagÄravatÄ, saį¹
ghagÄravatÄ, sikkhÄgÄravatÄ, hirigÄravatÄ, ottappagÄravatÄāRespect for the Teacher, for the teaching, for the Saį¹
gha, for the training, for conscience, and for prudence.
ime kho, bhante, cha dhammÄ bhikkhuno aparihÄnÄya saį¹vattantÄ«āti. These six things donāt lead to the decline of a mendicant.ā
Idamavoca, bhikkhave, sÄ devatÄ. That is what that deity said.
Idaį¹ vatvÄ maį¹ abhivÄdetvÄ padakkhiį¹aį¹ katvÄ tatthevantaradhÄyÄ«ti. Then he bowed and respectfully circled me, keeping me on his right side, before vanishing right there.
