Saį¹…khittadhanasutta Wealth in Brief

ā€œSattimāni, bhikkhave, dhanāni. ā€œMendicants, there are these seven kinds of wealth.

Katamāni satta? What seven?

Saddhādhanaį¹, sÄ«ladhanaį¹, hirÄ«dhanaį¹, ottappadhanaį¹, sutadhanaį¹, cāgadhanaį¹, paƱƱādhanaį¹. The wealth of faith, ethics, conscience, prudence, learning, generosity, and wisdom.

Imāni kho, bhikkhave, satta dhanānīti. These are the seven kinds of wealth.

Saddhādhanaį¹ sÄ«ladhanaį¹, Faith and ethical conduct are kinds of wealth,

hirÄ« ottappiyaį¹ dhanaį¹; as are conscience and prudence,

SutadhanaƱca cāgo ca, learning and generosity,

paƱƱā ve sattamaį¹ dhanaį¹. and wisdom is the seventh kind of wealth.

Yassa ete dhanā atthi, When a woman or man

itthiyā purisassa vā; has these kinds of wealth,

Adaliddoti taį¹ āhu, theyā€™re said to be prosperous,

amoghaį¹ tassa jÄ«vitaį¹. their life is not in vain.

Tasmā saddhaƱca sīlaƱca, So let the wise devote themselves

Pasādaį¹ dhammadassanaį¹; to faith, ethical behavior,

AnuyuƱjetha medhāvī, confidence, and insight into the teaching,

Saraį¹ buddhāna sāsananā€ti. remembering the instructions of the Buddhas.ā€
