ā€œSatta vo, bhikkhave, aparihāniye dhamme desessāmi. ā€œMendicants, I will teach you seven principles that prevent decline.

Taį¹ suį¹‡Ätha, sādhukaį¹ manasi karotha ā€¦peā€¦ Listen and apply your mind well ā€¦

katame ca, bhikkhave, satta aparihāniyā dhammā? And what are the seven principles that prevent decline?

YāvakÄ«vaƱca, bhikkhave, bhikkhÅ« saddhā bhavissanti; vuddhiyeva, bhikkhave, bhikkhÅ«naį¹ pāį¹­ikaį¹…khā, no parihāni. As long as the mendicants are faithful ā€¦

YāvakÄ«vaƱca, bhikkhave, bhikkhÅ« hirimanto bhavissanti ā€¦peā€¦ conscientious ā€¦

ottappino bhavissanti ā€¦ prudent ā€¦

bahussutā bhavissanti ā€¦ learned ā€¦

āraddhavÄ«riyā bhavissanti ā€¦ energetic ā€¦

satimanto bhavissanti ā€¦ mindful ā€¦

paƱƱavanto bhavissanti; vuddhiyeva, bhikkhave, bhikkhÅ«naį¹ pāį¹­ikaį¹…khā, no parihāni. wise, they can expect growth, not decline.

YāvakÄ«vaƱca, bhikkhave, ime satta aparihāniyā dhammā bhikkhÅ«su į¹­hassanti, imesu ca sattasu aparihāniyesu dhammesu bhikkhÅ« sandississanti; vuddhiyeva, bhikkhave, bhikkhÅ«naį¹ pāį¹­ikaį¹…khā, no parihānÄ«ā€ti. As long as these seven principles that prevent decline last among the mendicants, and as long as the mendicants are seen following them, they can expect growth, not decline.ā€
