Anupubbavihārasutta Progressive Meditations

ā€œNavayime, bhikkhave, anupubbavihārā. ā€œMendicants, there are these nine progressive meditations.

Paį¹­hamaį¹ jhānaį¹, dutiyaį¹ jhānaį¹, tatiyaį¹ jhānaį¹, catutthaį¹ jhānaį¹, ākāsānaƱcāyatanaį¹, viƱƱāį¹‡aƱcāyatanaį¹, ākiƱcaƱƱāyatanaį¹, nevasaƱƱānāsaƱƱāyatanaį¹, saƱƱāvedayitanirodhoā€”The first absorption, the second absorption, the third absorption, the fourth absorption, the dimension of infinite space, the dimension of infinite consciousness, the dimension of nothingness, the dimension of neither perception nor non-perception, and the cessation of perception and feeling.

ime kho, bhikkhave, nava anupubbavihārāā€ti. These are the nine progressive meditations.ā€
