Yattha kÄmÄ nirujjhanti, ye ca kÄme nirodhetvÄ nirodhetvÄ viharanti, āaddhÄ te Äyasmanto nicchÄtÄ nibbutÄ tiį¹į¹Ä pÄraį¹

genÄāti vadÄmi. Where sensual pleasures cease, and those who have thoroughly ended sensual pleasures meditate, I say: āClearly those venerables are desireless, quenched, crossed over, and gone beyond in that respect.ā
āKattha kÄmÄ nirujjhanti, ke ca kÄme nirodhetvÄ nirodhetvÄ viharantiāIf someone should say, āI do not know or see where sensual pleasures ceaseā,

āidhÄvuso, bhikkhu vivicceva kÄmehi vivicca akusalehi dhammehi savitakkaį¹ savicÄraį¹ vivekajaį¹ pÄ«tisukhaį¹ paį¹hamaį¹ jhÄnaį¹ upasampajja viharati. āReverend, itās when a mendicant, quite secluded from sensual pleasures, secluded from unskillful qualities, enters and remains in the first absorption, which has the rapture and bliss born of seclusion, while placing the mind and keeping it connected.
