OrambhÄgiyasutta Lower Fetters
āPaƱcimÄni, bhikkhave, orambhÄgiyÄni saį¹yojanÄni. āMendicants, there are five lower fetters.
KatamÄni paƱca? What five?
SakkÄyadiį¹į¹hi, vicikicchÄ, sÄ«labbataparÄmÄso, kÄmacchando, byÄpÄdoāSubstantialist view, doubt, misapprehension of precepts and observances, sensual desire, and ill will.
imÄni kho, bhikkhave, paƱcorambhÄgiyÄni saį¹yojanÄni. These are the five lower fetters.
Imesaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, paƱcannaį¹ orambhÄgiyÄnaį¹ saį¹yojanÄnaį¹ pahÄnÄya ā¦peā¦ ime cattÄro satipaį¹į¹hÄnÄ bhÄvetabbÄāti. To give up these five lower fetters you should develop the four kinds of mindfulness meditation. ā¦ā
