Macchariyasutta Stinginess
āPaƱcimÄni, bhikkhave, macchariyÄni. āMendicants, there are these five kinds of stinginess.
KatamÄni paƱca? What five?
ÄvÄsamacchariyaį¹, kulamacchariyaį¹, lÄbhamacchariyaį¹, vaį¹į¹amacchariyaį¹, dhammamacchariyaį¹āStinginess with dwellings, families, material things, praise, and the teaching.
imÄni kho, bhikkhave, paƱca macchariyÄni. These are the five kinds of stinginess.
Imesaį¹ kho, bhikkhave, paƱcannaį¹ macchariyÄnaį¹ pahÄnÄya ā¦peā¦ ime cattÄro satipaį¹į¹hÄnÄ bhÄvetabbÄāti. To give up these five kinds of stinginess you should develop the four kinds of mindfulness meditation. ā¦ā
