Atha kho ÄyasmÄ Änando yena bhagavÄ tenupasaį¹

kamitvÄ bhagavantaį¹ abhivÄdetvÄ ekamantaį¹ nisÄ«di. Ekamantaį¹ nisinnaį¹ kho Äyasmantaį¹ Änandaį¹ bhagavÄ etadavoca: Then Venerable Änanda went up to the Buddha, bowed, and sat down to one side. The Buddha said to him:
āYe te, Änanda, dhammÄ tesaį¹ tesaį¹ adhivuttipadÄnaį¹ abhiĆ±Ć±Ä sacchikiriyÄya saį¹vattanti, visÄrado ahaį¹, Änanda, tattha paį¹ijÄnÄmi. āÄnanda, I claim to be assured regarding the teachings that lead to realizing by insight the various different hypotheses.
āTesaį¹ tesaį¹ tathÄ tathÄ dhammaį¹ desetuį¹ yathÄ yathÄ paį¹ipanno santaį¹ vÄ atthÄ«ti Ʊassati, asantaį¹ vÄ natthÄ«ti Ʊassati, hÄ«naį¹ vÄ hÄ«nanti Ʊassati, paį¹Ä«taį¹ vÄ paį¹Ä«tanti Ʊassati, sauttaraį¹ vÄ sauttaranti Ʊassati, anuttaraį¹ vÄ anuttaranti Ʊassati; So I am able to teach the Dhamma in appropriate ways to different people. Practicing accordingly, when something exists theyāll know it exists. When it doesnāt exist theyāll know it doesnāt exist. When something is inferior theyāll know itās inferior. When itās superior theyāll know itās superior. When something is not supreme theyāll know itās not supreme. When it is supreme theyāll know itās supreme.
yathÄ yathÄ vÄ pana taį¹ ƱÄteyyaį¹ vÄ daį¹į¹heyyaį¹ vÄ sacchikareyyaį¹ vÄ tathÄ tathÄ Ć±assati vÄ dakkhati vÄ sacchikarissati vÄāti į¹hÄnametaį¹ vijjati. And they will know or see or realize it in whatever way it should be known or seen or realized. This is possible.
EtadÄnuttariyaį¹, Änanda, ƱÄį¹Änaį¹ yadidaį¹ tattha tattha yathÄbhÅ«taƱÄį¹aį¹. But this is the unsurpassable knowledge, that is: truly knowing each and every case.
EtasmÄ cÄhaį¹, Änanda, ƱÄį¹Ä aƱƱaį¹ ƱÄį¹aį¹ uttaritaraį¹ vÄ paį¹Ä«tataraį¹ vÄ natthÄ«ti vadÄmi. And Änanda, I say that there is no other knowledge better or finer than this.
DasayimÄni, Änanda, tathÄgatassa tathÄgatabalÄni, yehi balehi samannÄgato tathÄgato Äsabhaį¹ į¹hÄnaį¹ paį¹ijÄnÄti, parisÄsu sÄ«hanÄdaį¹ nadati, brahmacakkaį¹ pavatteti. The Realized One possesses ten powers of a Realized One. With these he claims the bullās place, roars his lionās roar in the assemblies, and turns the divine wheel.

YampÄnanda, tathÄgato į¹hÄnaƱca į¹hÄnato aį¹į¹hÄnaƱca aį¹į¹hÄnato yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ pajÄnÄti, idampÄnanda, tathÄgatassa tathÄgatabalaį¹ hoti, yaį¹ balaį¹ Ägamma tathÄgato Äsabhaį¹ į¹hÄnaį¹ paį¹ijÄnÄti, parisÄsu sÄ«hanÄdaį¹ nadati, brahmacakkaį¹ pavatteti. Since he truly understands this, this is a power of the Realized One. Relying on this he claims the bullās place, roars his lionās roar in the assemblies, and turns the divine wheel.

Furthermore, with clairvoyance that is purified and superhuman, the Realized One sees sentient beings passing away and being rebornāinferior and superior, beautiful and ugly, in a good place or a bad place. He understands how sentient beings are reborn according to their deeds.

Furthermore, the Realized One has realized the undefiled freedom of heart and freedom by wisdom in this very life, and lives having realized it with his own insight due to the ending of defilements.
