Pabbajitaabhiį¹hasutta Ten Regular Reflections for a Renunciate
āDasayime, bhikkhave, dhammÄ pabbajitena abhiį¹haį¹ paccavekkhitabbÄ. āMendicants, one who has gone forth should often review these ten things.

āVevaį¹į¹iyamhi ajjhupagatoāti pabbajitena abhiį¹haį¹ paccavekkhitabbaį¹. One who has gone forth should often review this: āI have secured freedom from class.ā
āParapaį¹ibaddhÄ me jÄ«vikÄāti pabbajitena abhiį¹haį¹ paccavekkhitabbaį¹. āMy livelihood is tied up with others.ā
āAƱƱo me Äkappo karaį¹Ä«yoāti pabbajitena abhiį¹haį¹ paccavekkhitabbaį¹. āMy behavior should be different.ā

āKammassakomhi kammadÄyÄdo kammayoni kammabandhu kammapaį¹isaraį¹o, āI am the owner of my deeds and heir to my deeds. Deeds are my womb, my relative, and my refuge.

āKathaį¹bhÅ«tassa me rattindivÄ vÄ«tivattantÄ«āti pabbajitena abhiį¹haį¹ paccavekkhitabbaį¹. āAs the days and nights flit by, what sort of person am I becoming?ā
āKacci nu kho ahaį¹ suƱƱÄgÄre abhiramÄmÄ«āti pabbajitena abhiį¹haį¹ paccavekkhitabbaį¹. āDo I love to stay in empty huts?ā

ku bhavissÄmÄ«āti pabbajitena abhiį¹haį¹ paccavekkhitabbaį¹. āDo I have any superhuman distinctions in knowledge and vision worthy of the noble ones, so that when my spiritual companions question me on my deathbed I will not be embarrassed?ā
Ime kho, bhikkhave, dasa dhammÄ pabbajitena abhiį¹haį¹ paccavekkhitabbÄāti. One who has gone forth should often review these ten things.ā
