āPunÄparaį¹ yadÄ homi, āThen again when I was
mithilÄyaį¹ puruttame; in the capital city of MithilÄ
Nimi nÄma mahÄrÄjÄ, I was the great king named Nimi,
paį¹įøito kusalatthiko. astute and seeking the good.
TadÄhaį¹ mÄpayitvÄna, Then having had constructed
catussÄlaį¹ catummukhaį¹; four halls with four openings,
Tattha dÄnaį¹ pavattesiį¹, I provided gifts there
migapakkhinarÄdinaį¹. for beasts, birds, men, and so forth.
AcchÄdanaƱca sayanaį¹, Clothing and beds,
annaį¹ pÄnaƱca bhojanaį¹; food and drink to enjoy:
Abbocchinnaį¹ karitvÄna, I provided them without let,
mahÄdÄnaį¹ pavattayiį¹. performing a great offering.
YathÄpi sevako sÄmiį¹, Suppose a servant is looking
dhanahetumupÄgato; to get a raise from their boss,
KÄyena vÄcÄ manasÄ, theyād seek to fulfill their needs
ÄrÄdhanÄ«yamesati. by body, speech, and mind.
TathevÄhaį¹ sabbabhave, In that way in every life
pariyesissÄmi bodhijaį¹; I shall seek the wisdom born of awakening.
DÄnena satte tappetvÄ, Having pleased beings with gifts,
icchÄmi bodhimuttamanāti. I wish for the supreme awakening.ā
