sutasomo mahīpati; Sutasoma, Lord of the Earth,

YathÄmati te kÄhÄmi, I shall act as you think,

AnussaritvÄ sataį¹ dhammaį¹, Recollecting the true Dhamma,
pubbakaį¹ jinasevitaį¹; fostered by former Victors,
BrÄhmaį¹assa dhanaį¹ datvÄ, I gave money to the brahmin,
porisÄdaį¹ upÄgamiį¹. and returned to the cannibal.
Natthi me saį¹sayo tattha, I had no doubt
GhÄtayissati vÄ na vÄ; that he was going to kill me.
SaccavÄcÄnurakkhanto, Protecting my truthful speech,
JÄ«vitaį¹ cajitumupÄgamiį¹; I went to give up my life.
Saccena me samo natthi, There is no-one to equal my truthfulness:
EsÄ me saccapÄramÄ«āti. this is my perfection of truth.ā
