VuttaƱhetaį¹ bhagavatÄ vuttamarahatÄti me sutaį¹: This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
āTayome, bhikkhave, addhÄ. āMendicants, there are these three periods.
Katame tayo? What three?
AtÄ«to addhÄ, anÄgato addhÄ, paccuppanno addhÄāPast, future, and present.
ime kho, bhikkhave, tayo addhÄāti. These are the three periods.ā
Etamatthaį¹ bhagavÄ avoca. The Buddha spoke this matter.
Tatthetaį¹ iti vuccati: On this it is said:
āAkkheyyasaƱƱino sattÄ, āSentient beings who perceive the communicable,
akkheyyasmiį¹ patiį¹į¹hitÄ; become established in the communicable.
Akkheyyaį¹ apariƱƱÄya, Not understanding the communicable,
yogamÄyanti maccuno. they fall under the yoke of Death.
AkkheyyaƱca pariƱƱÄya, But having fully understood the communicable,
akkhÄtÄraį¹ na maƱƱati; they donāt conceive a communicator,
Phuį¹į¹ho vimokkho manasÄ, as theyāve touched liberation with their mind,
santipadamanuttaraį¹. the supreme state of peace.
Sa ve akkheyyasampanno, Accomplished in the communicable,
santo santipade rato; peaceful, in love with the state of peace;

khÄya sevÄ« dhammaį¹į¹ho, making use after reflection, firm in principle,
saį¹
khyaį¹ nopeti vedagÅ«āti. a knowledge master cannot be reckoned.ā
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatÄ, iti me sutanti. This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
