Moneyyasutta Sagacity
VuttaƱhetaį¹ bhagavatÄ vuttamarahatÄti me sutaį¹: This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
āTÄ«į¹imÄni, bhikkhave, moneyyÄni. āMendicants, there are these three kinds of sagacity.
KatamÄni tÄ«į¹i? What three?
KÄyamoneyyaį¹, vacÄ«moneyyaį¹, manomoneyyaį¹āSagacity of body, speech, and mind.
imÄni kho, bhikkhave, tÄ«į¹i moneyyÄnÄ«āti. These are the three kinds of sagacity.ā
Etamatthaį¹ bhagavÄ avoca. The Buddha spoke this matter.
Tatthetaį¹ iti vuccati: On this it is said:
āKÄyamuniį¹ vacÄ«muniį¹, āA sage in body, a sage in speech,
manomunimanÄsavaį¹; a sage undefiled in mind;
Muniį¹ moneyyasampannaį¹, a sage, blessed with sagacity,
Ähu ninhÄtapÄpakanāti. has washed off all bad things, they say.ā
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatÄ, iti me sutanti. This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
