10. Munikajātaka The Pig Named Munika: a past life story
“Mā munikassa pihayi, Envy not what is Munika’s,
āturannāni bhuñjati; for he eats the food of the terminally ill.
Appossukko bhusaṁ khāda, Don’t worry, just eat your chaff,
etaṁ dīghāyulakkhaṇan”ti. this is a mark of long life.
Munikajātakaṁ dasamaṁ.
Kuruṅgavaggo tatiyo.
Tassuddānaṁ
Kuruṅgassa kukkuragojavaro,
Puna vāḷavassasirivhayano;
Mahiḷāmukhanāmanuññavaro,
Vahate dhura munikena dasāti.
