Sivakattheragāthā Sivaka
“Aniccāni gahakāni, Houses are impermanent—
tattha tattha punappunaṁ; on and on, life after life.
Gahakāraṁ gavesanto, I’ve been searching for the house-builder—
dukkhā jāti punappunaṁ. painful is birth again and again.
Gahakāraka diṭṭhosi, I’ve seen you, house-builder!
puna gehaṁ na kāhasi; You won’t build a house again.
Sabbā te phāsukā bhaggā, Your rafters are all broken,
thūṇikā ca vidālitā; your ridgepole is shattered.
Vimariyādikataṁ cittaṁ, My mind is released from limits:
idheva vidhamissatī”ti. in this very life it will dissipate.
