Anūpamattheragāthā Anūpama
“Nandamānāgataṁ cittaṁ, The conceited mind, addicted to pleasure,
sūlamāropamānakaṁ; impales itself on its own stake.
Tena teneva vajasi, It always goes where
yena sūlaṁ kaliṅgaraṁ. there’s a stake, a chopping board.
Tāhaṁ cittakaliṁ brūmi, I declare you the loser mind!
taṁ brūmi cittadubbhakaṁ; I declare you the insidious mind!
Satthā te dullabho laddho, You’ve found the teacher so hard to find—
mānatthe maṁ niyojayī”ti. don’t lead me away from the goal.
