Soį¹akuį¹ikaį¹į¹attheragÄthÄ Soį¹a of the Sharp Ears
āUpasampadÄ ca me laddhÄ, Iāve received ordination;
vimutto camhi anÄsavo; I am liberated, without defilements;
So ca me bhagavÄ diį¹į¹ho, Iāve seen the Blessed One myself,
vihÄre ca sahÄvasiį¹. and even stayed together with him.
Bahudeva rattiį¹ bhagavÄ, The Blessed One, the teacher,
abbhokÄsetinÄmayi; spent much of the night in the open;
VihÄrakusalo satthÄ, then he, who is so skilled in meditation,
vihÄraį¹ pÄvisÄ« tadÄ. entered his dwelling.
SantharitvÄna saį¹
ghÄį¹iį¹, Spreading his outer robe,
seyyaį¹ kappesi gotamo; Gotama made his bed,
SÄ«ho selaguhÄyaį¹va, like a lion in a rocky cave,
pahīnabhayabheravo. with fear and dread given up.
Tato kalyÄį¹avÄkkaraį¹o, Then, with lovely enunciation,
sammÄsambuddhasÄvako; Soį¹a, a disciple of the Buddha,
Soį¹o abhÄsi saddhammaį¹, recited the true teaching
buddhaseį¹į¹hassa sammukhÄ. before the best of Buddhas.
PaƱcakkhandhe pariƱƱÄya, When he has completely understood the five aggregates,
BhÄvayitvÄna aƱjasaį¹; developed the direct route,
Pappuyya paramaį¹ santiį¹, and arrived at ultimate peace,
ParinibbissatyanÄsavoāti. undefiled, heāll be fully quenched.
