āSudesito cakkhumatÄ, It was well-taught by the Clear-eyed One,
buddhenÄdiccabandhunÄ; the Buddha, kinsman of the Sun,
Sabbasaį¹yojanÄtÄ«to, who has transcended all fetters,
sabbavaį¹į¹avinÄsano. and destroyed all rolling-on.
NiyyÄniko uttaraį¹o, Emancipating, it leads across,
taį¹hÄmÅ«lavisosano; drying up the root of craving,
VisamÅ«laį¹ ÄghÄtanaį¹, and, having cut off the poisonous root, the slaughterhouse,
chetvÄ pÄpeti nibbutiį¹. it leads to quenching.
AƱƱÄį¹amÅ«labhedÄya, By breaking the root of unknowing,
kammayantavighÄį¹ano; it smashes the mechanism of deeds,
ViƱƱÄį¹Änaį¹ pariggahe, and drops the thunderbolt of knowledge
ƱÄį¹avajiranipÄtano. on the taking up of consciousnesses.
VedanÄnaį¹ viƱƱÄpano, It informs us of our feelings,
upÄdÄnappamocano; releasing us from grasping,
Bhavaį¹ aį¹
gÄrakÄsuį¹va, contemplating with understanding
ƱÄį¹ena anupassano. all states of existence as a pit of burning coals.
MahÄraso sugambhÄ«ro, Itās very sweet and very deep,
jarÄmaccunivÄraį¹o; holding birth and death at bay;
Ariyo aį¹į¹haį¹
giko maggo, it is the noble eightfold pathā
dukkhūpasamano sivo. the stilling of suffering, bliss.
Kammaį¹ kammanti ƱatvÄna, Knowing deed as deed
vipÄkaƱca vipÄkato; and result as result;
Paį¹iccuppannadhammÄnaį¹, seeing dependently originated phenomena
yathÄvÄlokadassano; as if they were in a clear light;
MahÄkhemaį¹
gamo santo, leading to the great sanctuary and peace,
