āVÄtarogÄbhinÄ«to tvaį¹, āStruck by a wind ailment
viharaį¹ kÄnane vane; while dwelling in a forest grove,
Paviddhagocare lÅ«khe, youāve entered a tough resort for gathering almsā
kathaį¹ bhikkhu karissasiā. how will you get by, monk?ā
āPÄ«tisukhena vipulena, āPervading this bag of bones
pharitvÄna samussayaį¹; with abundant rapture and happiness,
LÅ«khampi abhisambhonto, putting up with whatās tough,
viharissÄmi kÄnane. Iāll dwell in the forest.
BhÄvento satta bojjhaį¹
ge, Developing the seven awakening factors,
indriyÄni balÄni ca; the faculties and the powers,
JhÄnasokhummasampanno, endowed with subtle absorptions,
viharissaį¹ anÄsavo. Iāll dwell without defilements.
Vippamuttaį¹ kilesehi, Freed from corruptions,
suddhacittaį¹ anÄvilaį¹; my pure mind is unclouded.
Abhiį¹haį¹ paccavekkhanto, Frequently reviewing this,
viharissaį¹ anÄsavo. Iāll meditate without defilements.
AjjhattaƱca bahiddhÄ ca, Those defilements that were found in me,
ye me vijjiį¹su ÄsavÄ; internally and externally,
Sabbe asesÄ ucchinnÄ, are all cut off without remainder,
na ca uppajjare puna. and will not arise again.
PaƱcakkhandhÄ pariƱƱÄtÄ, The five aggregates are fully understood,
tiį¹į¹hanti chinnamÅ«lakÄ; they remain, but their root is cut.
Dukkhakkhayo anuppatto, I have reached the ending of suffering,
natthi dÄni punabbhavoāti. now thereāll be no more future lives.ā
