Puṇṇātherīgāthā Verses of the Elder Puṇṇā Puṇṇā
“Puṇṇe pūrassu dhammehi, “Puṇṇā, grow full of good qualities, Puṇṇā, be filled with good qualities,
Cando pannaraseriva; like the moon on the fifteenth day. like the moon on the fifteenth day.
Paripuṇṇāya paññāya, Full of wisdom, When your wisdom is full,
Tamokhandhaṁ padālayā”ti. destroy this mass of darkness.” shatter the mass of darkness.
Itthaṁ sudaṁ puṇṇā therī gāthaṁ abhāsitthāti. Thus Puṇṇā the Elder spoke this verse. That is how this verse was recited by the senior nun Puṇṇā.
