Katichindasutta Cut How Many? How Many Must One Cut?

Sāvatthinidānaį¹. At SāvatthÄ«. At Savatthi.

Ekamantaį¹ į¹­hitā kho sā devatā bhagavato santike imaį¹ gāthaį¹ abhāsi: Standing to one side, that deity recited this verse in the Buddhaā€™s presence: Standing to one side, that devatā recited this verse in the presence of the Blessed One:

ā€œKati chinde kati jahe, ā€œCut how many? Drop how many? ā€œHow many must one cut, how many abandon,

kati cuttari bhāvaye; Develop how many more? And how many further must one develop?
