Annasutta Food Food

ā€œAnnamevābhinandanti, ā€œBoth gods and humans ā€œThey always take delight in food,

ubhaye devamānusā; enjoy their food. Both devas and human beings.

Atha ko nāma so yakkho, So whatā€™s the name of the spirit So what sort of spirit could it be

yaį¹ annaį¹ nābhinandatÄ«ā€ti. who doesnā€™t enjoy food?ā€ That does not take delight in food?ā€

ā€œYe naį¹ dadanti saddhāya, ā€œThose who give with faith ā€œWhen they give out of faith

vippasannena cetasā; and a clear and confident heart, With a heart of confidence,

Tameva annaį¹ bhajati, partake of food Food accrues to the giver himself

asmiį¹ loke paramhi ca. in this world and the next. Both in this world and the next.

Tasmā vineyya maccheraį¹, So you should dispel stinginess, ā€œTherefore, having removed stinginess,

dajjā dānaį¹ malābhibhÅ«; overcoming that stain, and give a gift. The conqueror of the stain should give a gift.

PuƱƱāni paralokasmiį¹, The good deeds of sentient beings Merits are the support for living beings

patiį¹­į¹­hā honti pāį¹‡inanā€ti. support them in the next world.ā€ When they arise in the other world. ā€
