Kāmasutta Desire Love

ā€œKimatthakāmo na dade, ā€œWhat should one who desires the good not give away? ā€œWhat should he not give who loves the good?

kiį¹ macco na pariccaje; What should a mortal not forsake? What should a mortal not relinquish?

Kiį¹su muƱceyya kalyāį¹‡aį¹, What should be let out when itā€™s good, What should one release when itā€™s good,

pāpikaį¹ na ca mocayeā€ti. but not when itā€™s bad?ā€ But not release when itā€™s bad?ā€

ā€œAttānaį¹ na dade poso, ā€œA man shouldnā€™t give away himself. ā€œA person should not give himself away;

attānaį¹ na pariccaje; He shouldnā€™t forsake himself. He should not relinquish himself.

Vācaį¹ muƱceyya kalyāį¹‡aį¹, Speech should be let out when itā€™s good, One should release speech that is good,

pāpikaƱca na mocayeā€ti. but not when itā€™s bad.ā€ But not speech that is bad. ā€
