Nandasutta With Nanda Nanda
Ekamantaį¹ į¹hito kho nando devaputto bhagavato santike imaį¹ gÄthaį¹ abhÄsi: Standing to one side, the god Nanda recited this verse in the Buddhaās presence: Standing to one side, the young deva Nanda recited this verse in the presence of the Blessed One:
āAccenti kÄlÄ tarayanti rattiyo, āTime flies, nights pass by, āTime flies by, the nights swiftly pass;
Vayoguį¹Ä anupubbaį¹ jahanti; the stages of life leave us one by one. The stages of life successively desert us.
Etaį¹ bhayaį¹ maraį¹e pekkhamÄno, Seeing this peril in death, Seeing clearly this danger in death,
PuƱƱÄni kayirÄtha sukhÄvahÄnÄ«āti. do good deeds that bring you joy.ā One should do deeds of merit that bring happiness. ā
