ā€œCatasso imā, bhikkhave, dhātuyo. ā€œMendicants, there are these four elements.

Katamā catasso? What four?

Pathavīdhātu, āpodhātu, tejodhātu, vāyodhātu. The elements of earth, water, fire, and air.

Ye hi keci, bhikkhave, samaį¹‡Ä vā brāhmaį¹‡Ä vā imāsaį¹ catunnaį¹ dhātÅ«naį¹ samudayaƱca atthaį¹…gamaƱca assādaƱca ādÄ«navaƱca nissaraį¹‡aƱca yathābhÅ«taį¹ nappajānanti ā€¦peā€¦ There are ascetics and brahmins who donā€™t truly understand these four elementsā€™ origin, ending, gratification, drawback, and escape ā€¦
