ā€œDāruį¹‡o, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko ā€¦peā€¦ ā€œPossessions, honor, and popularity are brutal ā€¦

na tassa, bhikkhave, janapadakalyāį¹‡Ä« ekā ekassa cittaį¹ pariyādāya tiį¹­į¹­hati yassa lābhasakkārasiloko cittaį¹ pariyādāya tiį¹­į¹­hati. Even if youā€™re alone with the finest lady in the land she might not occupy your mind, but possessions, honor and popularity would still occupy your mind.

Evaį¹ dāruį¹‡o kho, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko ā€¦peā€¦ So brutal are possessions, honor, and popularity. ā€¦ā€

evaƱhi vo, bhikkhave, sikkhitabbanā€ti.
