Lābhasakkārasilokena abhibhÅ«tassa pariyādiį¹‡į¹‡acittassa, bhikkhave, devadattassa kusalamÅ«laį¹ samucchedamagamā. Devadatta cut off his skillful root because his mind was overcome and overwhelmed by possessions, honor, and popularity.

Evaį¹ dāruį¹‡o kho, bhikkhave, lābhasakkārasiloko ā€¦peā€¦ So brutal are possessions, honor, and popularity. ā€¦ā€
