Yadanattāsutta That Which is Not-Self

Sāvatthinidānaį¹. At SāvatthÄ«.

ā€œRÅ«paį¹, bhikkhave, anattā. ā€œMendicants, form is not-self.

Yadanattā taį¹ ā€˜netaį¹ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attāā€™ti evametaį¹ yathābhÅ«taį¹ sammappaƱƱāya daį¹­į¹­habbaį¹. And whatā€™s not-self should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ā€˜This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.ā€™

Vedanā anattā ā€¦ Feeling is not-self ā€¦

saƱƱā anattā ā€¦ Perception is not-self ā€¦

saį¹…khārā anattā ā€¦ Choices are not-self ā€¦

viƱƱāį¹‡aį¹ anattā. Consciousness is not-self.

Yadanattā taį¹ ā€˜netaį¹ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attāā€™ti evametaį¹ yathābhÅ«taį¹ sammappaƱƱāya daį¹­į¹­habbaį¹. And whatā€™s not-self should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ā€˜This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.ā€™

nāparaį¹ itthattāyāā€™ti pajānātÄ«ā€ti. They understand: ā€˜ā€¦ there is nothing further for this place.ā€™ā€
