Sahetudukkhasutta Suffering With Its Cause

Sāvatthinidānaį¹. At SāvatthÄ«.

ā€œRÅ«paį¹, bhikkhave, dukkhaį¹. ā€œMendicants, form is suffering.

Yopi hetu yopi paccayo rūpassa uppādāya, sopi dukkho. The cause and reason that gives rise to form is also suffering.

DukkhasambhÅ«taį¹, bhikkhave, rÅ«paį¹ kuto sukhaį¹ bhavissati. Since form is produced by what is suffering, how could it be happiness?

Vedanā dukkhā ā€¦ Feeling is suffering ā€¦

saƱƱā dukkhā ā€¦ Perception is suffering ā€¦

saį¹…khārā dukkhā ā€¦ Choices are suffering ā€¦

viƱƱāį¹‡aį¹ dukkhaį¹. Consciousness is suffering.

Yopi hetu yopi paccayo viƱƱāį¹‡assa uppādāya, sopi dukkho. The cause and reason that gives rise to consciousness is also suffering.

DukkhasambhÅ«taį¹, bhikkhave, viƱƱāį¹‡aį¹ kuto sukhaį¹ bhavissati. Since consciousness is produced by what is suffering, how could it be happiness?
