āNo cedaį¹, bhikkhave, rÅ«passa assÄdo abhavissa nayidaį¹ sattÄ rÅ«pasmiį¹ sÄrajjeyyuį¹. āMendicants, if there were no gratification in form, sentient beings wouldnāt be aroused by it.
YasmÄ ca kho, bhikkhave, atthi rÅ«passa assÄdo, tasmÄ sattÄ rÅ«pasmiį¹ sÄrajjanti. But since there is gratification in form, sentient beings are aroused by it.
No cedaį¹, bhikkhave, rÅ«passa ÄdÄ«navo abhavissa nayidaį¹ sattÄ rÅ«pasmiį¹ nibbindeyyuį¹. If form had no drawback, sentient beings wouldnāt grow disillusioned with it.
YasmÄ ca kho, bhikkhave, atthi rÅ«passa ÄdÄ«navo, tasmÄ sattÄ rÅ«pasmiį¹ nibbindanti. But since form has a drawback, sentient beings do grow disillusioned with it.
No cedaį¹, bhikkhave, rÅ«passa nissaraį¹aį¹ abhavissa nayidaį¹ sattÄ rÅ«pasmÄ nissareyyuį¹. If there were no escape from form, sentient beings wouldnāt escape from it.
YasmÄ ca kho, bhikkhave, atthi rÅ«passa nissaraį¹aį¹, tasmÄ sattÄ rÅ«pasmÄ nissaranti. But since there is an escape from form, sentient beings do escape from it.

YÄvakÄ«vaƱca, bhikkhave, sattÄ imesaį¹ paƱcannaį¹ upÄdÄnakkhandhÄnaį¹ assÄdaƱca assÄdato ÄdÄ«navaƱca ÄdÄ«navato nissaraį¹aƱca nissaraį¹ato yathÄbhÅ«taį¹ nÄbbhaƱƱaį¹su; As long as sentient beings donāt truly understand these five grasping aggregatesā gratification, drawback, and escape for what they are, they havenāt escaped from this worldāwith its gods, MÄras, and Divinities, this population with its ascetics and brahmins, its gods and humansāand they donāt live detached, liberated, with a mind free of limits.
