Sāvatthinidānaį¹. At SāvatthÄ«.

Atha kho āyasmā rādho yena bhagavā tenupasaį¹…kami; upasaį¹…kamitvā bhagavantaį¹ etadavoca: Then Venerable Rādha went up to the Buddha ā€¦ and asked him,

ā€œkathaį¹ nu kho, bhante, jānato, kathaį¹ passato imasmiƱca saviƱƱāį¹‡ake kāye bahiddhā ca sabbanimittesu ahaį¹…kāramamaį¹…kāramānānusayā na hontÄ«ā€ti? ā€œSir, how does one know and see so that thereā€™s no I-making, mine-making, or underlying tendency to conceit for this conscious body and all external stimuli?ā€

ā€œYaį¹ kiƱci, rādha, rÅ«paį¹ atÄ«tānāgatapaccuppannaį¹ ajjhattaį¹ vā bahiddhā vā oįø·Ärikaį¹ vā sukhumaį¹ vā hÄ«naį¹ vā paį¹‡Ä«taį¹ vā yaį¹ dÅ«re santike vā, sabbaį¹ rÅ«paį¹: ā€˜netaį¹ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attāā€™ti evametaį¹ yathābhÅ«taį¹ sammappaƱƱāya passati. ā€œRādha, one truly sees any kind of form at allā€”past, future, or present; internal or external; solid or subtle; inferior or superior; far or near: all formā€”with right understanding: ā€˜This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.ā€™

yaį¹ kiƱci viƱƱāį¹‡aį¹ atÄ«tānāgatapaccuppannaį¹ ā€¦peā€¦ yaį¹ dÅ«re santike vā, sabbaį¹ viƱƱāį¹‡aį¹: ā€˜netaį¹ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attāā€™ti evametaį¹ yathābhÅ«taį¹ sammappaƱƱāya passati. consciousness at allā€”past, future, or present; internal or external; solid or subtle; inferior or superior; far or near: all consciousnessā€”with right understanding: ā€˜This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.ā€™

Evaį¹ kho, rādha, jānato evaį¹ passato imasmiƱca saviƱƱāį¹‡ake kāye bahiddhā ca sabbanimittesu ahaį¹…kāramamaį¹…kāramānānusayā na hontÄ«ā€ti ā€¦peā€¦ Thatā€™s how to know and see so that thereā€™s no I-making, mine-making, or underlying tendency to conceit for this conscious body and all external stimuli.ā€ ā€¦

aƱƱataro ca panāyasmā rādho arahataį¹ ahosÄ«ti. And Venerable Rādha became one of the perfected.
