Chandappahānasutta Giving Up Desire

Sāvatthinidānaį¹. At SāvatthÄ«.

ā€œRÅ«pe, bhikkhave, yo chando yo rāgo yā nandÄ« yā taį¹‡hā, taį¹ pajahatha. ā€œMendicants, you should give up any desire, greed, relishing, and craving for form.

Evaį¹ taį¹ rÅ«paį¹ pahÄ«naį¹ bhavissati ucchinnamÅ«laį¹ tālāvatthukataį¹ anabhāvaį¹…kataį¹ āyatiį¹ anuppādadhammaį¹. Thus that form will be given up, cut off at the root, made like a palm stump, obliterated, and unable to arise in the future.
