Aniccasutta Impermanence

Sāvatthinidānaį¹. At SāvatthÄ«.

Ekamantaį¹ nisinno kho āyasmā rādho bhagavantaį¹ etadavoca: Seated to one side, Venerable Rādha said to the Buddha:

ā€œā€˜aniccaį¹, aniccanā€™ti, bhante, vuccati. ā€œSir, they speak of this thing called ā€˜impermanenceā€™.

Katamaį¹ nu kho, bhante, aniccanā€ti? What is impermanence?ā€

ā€œRÅ«paį¹ kho, rādha, aniccaį¹, vedanā aniccā, saƱƱā aniccā, saį¹…khārā aniccā, viƱƱāį¹‡aį¹ aniccaį¹. ā€œRādha, form, feeling, perception, choices, and consciousness are impermanent.

nāparaį¹ itthattāyāti pajānātÄ«ā€ti. They understand: ā€˜ā€¦ there is nothing further for this place.ā€™ā€
