Sāvatthinidānaį¹. At SāvatthÄ«.

ā€œYo, bhikkhave, rÅ«pesu chandarāgo, cittasseso upakkileso. ā€œMendicants, desire and greed for sights,

Yo saddesu ā€¦ sounds,

yo gandhesu ā€¦ smells,

yo rasesu ā€¦ tastes,

yo phoį¹­į¹­habbesu ā€¦ touches,

yo dhammesu chandarāgo, cittasseso upakkileso. or ideas is a corruption of the mind.

Yato kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhuno imesu chasu į¹­hānesu cetaso upakkileso pahÄ«no hoti, nekkhammaninnaƱcassa cittaį¹ hoti. When a mendicant has given up mental corruption in these six cases, their mind inclines to renunciation.

Nekkhammaparibhāvitaį¹ cittaį¹ kammaniyaį¹ khāyati, abhiƱƱā sacchikaraį¹‡Ä«yesu dhammesÅ«ā€ti. A mind imbued with renunciation is declared to be capable of directly knowing anything that can be realized.ā€
