āYo, bhikkhave, rÅ«pesu chandarÄgo, cittasseso upakkileso. āMendicants, desire and greed for sights,
Yo saddesu ā¦ sounds,
yo gandhesu ā¦ smells,
yo rasesu ā¦ tastes,
yo phoį¹į¹habbesu ā¦ touches,
yo dhammesu chandarÄgo, cittasseso upakkileso. or ideas is a corruption of the mind.
Yato kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhuno imesu chasu į¹hÄnesu cetaso upakkileso pahÄ«no hoti, nekkhammaninnaƱcassa cittaį¹ hoti. When a mendicant has given up mental corruption in these six cases, their mind inclines to renunciation.
NekkhammaparibhÄvitaį¹ cittaį¹ kammaniyaį¹ khÄyati, abhiĆ±Ć±Ä sacchikaraį¹Ä«yesu dhammesÅ«āti. A mind imbued with renunciation is declared to be capable of directly knowing anything that can be realized.ā
