āko nu kho, bhante, hetu, ko paccayo, yena midhekacco kÄyassa bhedÄ paraį¹ maraį¹Ä valÄhakakÄyikÄnaį¹ devÄnaį¹ sahabyataį¹ upapajjatÄ«āti? āSir, what is the cause, what is the reason why someone, when their body breaks up, after death, is reborn in the company of the gods of the clouds?ā
āIdha, bhikkhu, ekacco kÄyena sucaritaį¹ carati, vÄcÄya sucaritaį¹ carati, manasÄ sucaritaį¹ carati. āMendicant, itās when someone does good things by way of body, speech, and mind.
Tassa sutaį¹ hoti: And theyāve heard:
āvalÄhakakÄyikÄ devÄ dÄ«ghÄyukÄ vaį¹į¹avanto sukhabahulÄāti. āThe gods of the clouds are long-lived, beautiful, and very happy.ā
Tassa evaį¹ hoti: They think:
āaho vatÄhaį¹ kÄyassa bhedÄ paraį¹ maraį¹Ä valÄhakakÄyikÄnaį¹ devÄnaį¹ sahabyataį¹ upapajjeyyanāti. āIf only, when my body breaks up, after death, I would be reborn in the company of the gods of the clouds!ā
So kÄyassa bhedÄ paraį¹ maraį¹Ä valÄhakakÄyikÄnaį¹ devÄnaį¹ sahabyataį¹ upapajjati. When their body breaks up, after death, theyāre reborn in the company of the gods of the clouds.
