SaƱƱāaƱƱāį¹‡asutta Not Knowing Perception

Sāvatthinidānaį¹. At SāvatthÄ«.

Ekamantaį¹ nisinno kho vacchagotto paribbājako bhagavantaį¹ etadavoca: Then the wanderer Vacchagotta said to the Buddha:

ā€œko nu kho, bho gotama, hetu, ko paccayo, yānimāni anekavihitāni diį¹­į¹­higatāni loke uppajjantiā€”ā€œWhat is the cause, worthy Gotama, what is the reason why these various misconceptions arise in the world? ā€¦ā€

sassato lokoti vā, asassato lokoti vā ā€¦peā€¦

neva hoti na na hoti tathāgato paraį¹ maraį¹‡Äti vāā€ti?

ā€œSaƱƱāya kho, vaccha, aƱƱāį¹‡Ä, saƱƱāsamudaye aƱƱāį¹‡Ä, saƱƱānirodhe aƱƱāį¹‡Ä, saƱƱānirodhagāminiyā paį¹­ipadāya aƱƱāį¹‡Ä; ā€œVaccha, it is because of not knowing perception, its origin, its cessation, and the practice that leads to its cessation ā€¦ā€
