SabbupÄdÄnapariƱƱÄsutta The Complete Understanding of All Grasping
āSabbupÄdÄnapariƱƱÄya vo, bhikkhave, dhammaį¹ desessÄmi. āMendicants, I will teach you the principle for the complete understanding of all grasping.

Katamo ca, bhikkhave, sabbupÄdÄnapariƱƱÄya dhammo? And what is the principle for the complete understanding of all grasping?
CakkhuƱca paį¹icca rÅ«pe ca uppajjati cakkhuviƱƱÄį¹aį¹. Tiį¹į¹aį¹ saį¹
gati phasso. Eye consciousness arises dependent on the eye and sights. The meeting of the three is contact.
PhassapaccayÄ vedanÄ. Contact is a condition for feeling.
Evaį¹ passaį¹, bhikkhave, sutavÄ ariyasÄvako cakkhusmimpi nibbindati, rÅ«pesupi nibbindati, cakkhuviƱƱÄį¹epi nibbindati, cakkhusamphassepi nibbindati, vedanÄyapi nibbindati. Seeing this, a learned noble disciple grows disillusioned with the eye, sights, eye consciousness, eye contact, and feeling.
Nibbindaį¹ virajjati; virÄgÄ vimuccati; vimokkhÄ āpariƱƱÄtaį¹ me upÄdÄnanāti pajÄnÄti. Being disillusioned, desire fades away. When desire fades away theyāre freed. When they are released, they understand: āI have completely understood grasping.ā

ghÄnaƱca paį¹icca gandhe ca ā¦ Nose consciousness arises dependent on the nose and smells. ā¦
