Paį¹­hamasabbupādānapariyādānasutta The Depletion of All Fuel (1st)

ā€œSabbupādānapariyādānāya vo, bhikkhave, dhammaį¹ desessāmi. ā€œMendicants, I will teach you the principle for depleting all fuel.

Taį¹ suį¹‡Ätha. Listen ā€¦

Katamo ca, bhikkhave, sabbupādānapariyādānāya dhammo? And what is the principle for depleting all fuel?

CakkhuƱca paį¹­icca rÅ«pe ca uppajjati cakkhuviƱƱāį¹‡aį¹. Tiį¹‡į¹‡aį¹ saį¹…gati phasso. Eye consciousness arises dependent on the eye and sights. The meeting of the three is contact.

Phassapaccayā vedanā. Contact is a condition for feeling.

Evaį¹ passaį¹, bhikkhave, sutavā ariyasāvako cakkhusmimpi nibbindati, rÅ«pesupi nibbindati, cakkhuviƱƱāį¹‡epi nibbindati, cakkhusamphassepi nibbindati, vedanāyapi nibbindati. Seeing this, a learned noble disciple grows disillusioned with the eye, sights, eye consciousness, eye contact, and feeling.

Nibbindaį¹ virajjati; virāgā vimuccati; vimokkhā ā€˜pariyādinnaį¹ me upādānanā€™ti pajānāti ā€¦peā€¦ Being disillusioned, desire fades away. When desire fades away theyā€™re freed. When they are released, they understand: ā€˜I have completely depleted grasping.ā€™

jivhaƱca paį¹­icca rase ca uppajjati jivhāviƱƱāį¹‡aį¹ ā€¦peā€¦ Ear ā€¦ nose ā€¦ tongue ā€¦ body ā€¦

manaƱca paį¹­icca dhamme ca uppajjati manoviƱƱāį¹‡aį¹. Tiį¹‡į¹‡aį¹ saį¹…gati phasso. Mind consciousness arises dependent on the mind and ideas. The meeting of the three is contact.
