ekamantaį¹ nisinno kho āyasmā migajālo bhagavantaį¹ etadavoca: and said to him:

When Iā€™ve heard it, Iā€™ll live alone, withdrawn, diligent, keen, and resolute.ā€

ā€œSanti kho, migajāla, cakkhuviƱƱeyyā rÅ«pā iį¹į¹hā kantā manāpā piyarÅ«pā kāmÅ«pasaį¹hitā rajanÄ«yā. ā€œMigajāla, there are sights known by the eye, which are likable, desirable, agreeable, pleasant, sensual, and arousing.

Nandisamudayā dukkhasamudayo, migajālāti vadāmi ā€¦peā€¦ Relishing is the origin of suffering, I say.

Atha kho āyasmā migajālo bhagavato bhāsitaį¹ abhinanditvā anumoditvā uį¹į¹hāyāsanā bhagavantaį¹ abhivādetvā padakkhiį¹‡aį¹ katvā pakkāmi. And then Venerable Migajāla approved and agreed with what the Buddha said. He got up from his seat, bowed, and respectfully circled the Buddha, keeping him on his right, before leaving.

Atha kho āyasmā migajālo eko vÅ«pakaį¹į¹ho appamatto ātāpÄ« pahitatto viharato nacirassevaā€”yassatthāya kulaputtā sammadeva agārasmā anagāriyaį¹ pabbajanti, tadanuttaraį¹ā€”brahmacariyapariyosānaį¹ diį¹į¹heva dhamme sayaį¹ abhiƱƱā sacchikatvā upasampajja vihāsi. Then Migajāla, living alone, withdrawn, diligent, keen, and resolute, soon realized the supreme end of the spiritual path in this very life. He lived having achieved with his own insight the goal for which gentlemen rightly go forth from the lay life to homelessness.

ā€œKhÄ«į¹‡Ä jāti, vusitaį¹ brahmacariyaį¹, kataį¹ karaį¹‡Ä«yaį¹, nāparaį¹ itthattāyāā€ti abbhaƱƱāsi. He understood: ā€œRebirth is ended; the spiritual journey has been completed; what had to be done has been done; there is nothing further for this place.ā€

AƱƱataro ca panāyasmā migajālo arahataį¹ ahosÄ«ti. And Migajāla became one of the perfected.

Dutiyaį¹.
